Synopsis:
Fold cranes have been broken with various wishes, such as healing illness and victory in sports games, for a long time.
It is not so old that it began to be broken as a symbol of hope for peace and praying.

In 1955, 10 years after the war, a girl in Hiroshima, Sadako Sasaki, died due to anometry.
In that sadness, the classmates create a memorial monument of children who died in the atomic bomb, "The Image of the Atomic Bomb".

The memorial monument was an image of a girl with a large folded crane high overhead, imagining Sadako, who had folded the folded crane in hopes of recovery.
The fact that folded cranes have been folded with the meaning of peace prayer can be said to be the trigger of Sadako and the "image of the atomic bomb".
And the folding cranes are now being broken in the world on the waves of the peace movement.

This picture book depicts the process of Sadako's death and folding cranes in an easy -to -understand manner with a picture and sentence.
It is an impressive picture book that transmits the prayer of the writer and painter to peace.
