[Introduction of actual car]
The Express Saikai began driving between Tokyo and Sasebo as an irregular express train in 1954 (Showa 29), and in 1961 (Showa 36) started together with Unzen.
In 1975 (Showa 50), it was organized with an old lightweight passenger car until it was replaced by a 14 -series seat car.
It was abolished with "Unzen" in the revision of 1980 (Showa 55).
