The Kintetsu 5200 series appeared in 1988 as an express and group vehicles.
Of these, the 5209 series is a derivative of the 5200 series that appeared in 1991.
Since it is mainly operated on long -distance trains with a low stop frequency, we adopted the body of 3 doors on one side with a double -opened 1300mm width, and all of them are automatic conversion cross seats to secure the number of seats and pursue comfort.
The front window is a curved surface glass, the penetrating door window glass is vertical, 5208F is 5200, 5209F using SIV as an auxiliary power supply, 5209 series, and 5211F to 5213F with Volstares bogie. It is distinguished as 5211 series.
