Product Description The E653 series appeared as a limited express "Fresh Hitachi" for the 485 series Hitachi replacement of the Joban Line from October 1997.
A colorful coloring inspired by the tourism resource along the Joban Line was adopted, and there were 5 different colors for each formation.
It was roughly divided into the basic 7 -car train and the attached 4 -car train, and was operated between Ueno and Iwaki with up to 7 cars+7 cars.
